Acute Respiratory Clinic 3/24/20 Update

Patients who contact the call center (314-636-9000 or 39 0444 61 9000) with fever (subjective or objective) and signs of respiratory illness (cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, etc.) are scheduled for an appointment with the Acute Respiratory Clinic. The clinic will perform rapid tests for influenza and/or strep throat depending on the presenting symptoms, because these illnesses can present with similar symptoms to COVID-19. If the patient is diagnosed with influenza or another condition by rapid diagnostic test and that diagnosis fully explains all of their symptoms, there will be no test for COVID-19. If the patient tests negative for those other conditions, they will be swabbed for COVID-19.
