Lieutenant Colonel Vanessa WorshamLieutenant Colonel Vanessa Worsham

Lieutenant Colonel Vanessa Worsham graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Howard University and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps (ANC).

Lt. Col. Worsham earned a Business of Nursing Graduate Certificate from Johns Hopkins University in 2002 and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Educator from the Catholic University of America in 2005. She is a graduate of the United States Army Medical Department (AMEDD) Officer Basic Course (OBC) and Officer Advanced Course, United States Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC) - Intermediate Level Education (ILE), Advanced Nurse Leadership Course, TO&E Medical Leaders Training Course, Uniformed Services University Medical Executive Skills Course, Joint Medical Operations Course (JMOC), and Joint Medical Planning Tool (JMPT) Course.

Lt. Col. Worsham’s previous assignments include serving in positions as the Charge Nurse/Clinical Staff Nurse, Cardiothoracic Surgery/Progressive Care Unit, Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC); Assistant Head Nurse, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Ward, Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC);  Head Nurse and Officer in Charge, Fort McNair Army Health Clinic – United States Army Health Clinic Pentagon; Clinical Nurse Specialist, Surgical Neuroscience Nursing Section (SNNS), Walter Reed Army Medical Center; Commander, 150th Medical Detachment, 121st Combat Support Hospital (CSH), Republic of Korea; Senior Project Officer, Training with Industry (TWI) – Humana, Miramar, FL; Executive Assistant (EA), Corps Specific Branch Proponency Office (CSBPO) Army Nurse Corps; Deputy Commander for Nursing (DCN), Dunham United States Army Health Clinic, Carlisle Barracks; Clinical Nurse Officer in Charge of Surgical Trauma, BAMC.

Lt. Col.  Worsham awards and decorations include four Meritorious Service Medals, four Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, Army Superior Unit Award, two National Defense Service Medals, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon.
