For U.S. civilian healthcare systems, participation is voluntary. Therefore you might not be able to find the same measures published by some state-side facilities.

Closed in the morning every 3rd Thursday

Medical Nutrition Therapy and nutrition education is provided in individual and group appointments. To improve access to care for the entire Vicenza Military Community, it is recommended that most nutrition needs be addressed in classes before booking a one-on-one appointment. Weight management counseling for Service Members will NOT be provided individually until all Fit for Performance classes are complete. Fit for Performance must be completed if flagged IAW AR 600-9 (ABCP). With sufficient notice, a Registered Dietitian is available to speak to your unit or organization. Please request by calling DSN 314-636-9705 or Civilian 0444-61-9705.

Fit for Performance Fueled by Performance Triad
Fit for Performance is a scientifically based lifestyle and behavior modification program designed to help Soldiers, adult DoD beneficiaries and DoD employees:

• Improve body composition IAW AR 600-9 (ABCP/Army Body Composition Program)
• Improve military readiness, job performance and personal health
• Lower risk of weight-related diseases

Session 1: Steps to Weight Loss Success (recommended only for those flagged IAW AR 600-9)
Session 2: Maximize Your Sleep & Workouts
Session 3: Creating a Supportive Environment
Session 4: Fueling Your Brain & Body
Session 5: Psychology of Weight Loss

Nutrition During Pregnancy
All new parents are welcome to this one-hour class to improve knowledge about food safety, balanced nutrition, appropriate weight gain during pregnancy, your developing baby's needs, and handling common complications of pregnancy, such as morning sickness and constipation. Class held in connection with OB orientation. Please contact Preventive Medicine or nutrition clinic to book at 0444-61-9190 or 0444-61-9705.

Healthy Heart Class
The Healthy Heart class is designed to reduce heart disease risk by controlling or avoiding prediabetes/type 2 diabetes, hypertension/high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and overweight or obesity. This class is designed to provide practical tools for improving lifestyle.

Performance Nutrition & Supplement Safety Classes
Optimize physical readiness and performance by learning more about fueling before, during and after activity, choosing the appropriate supplements to improve your performance and recovery, and avoiding unsafe, banned and illegal dietary supplements. These classes are taught in conjunction with other programs, including SPEAR (Soldier Performance Education for Advanced Readiness & Resilience).
