In an effort to be as transparent as possible, This Army Health Clinic (U.S. Army Medical Department Activity-Bavaria), in coordination with the Military Health System, is voluntarily making several quality and safety measures public. For U.S. civilian healthcare systems, participation is voluntary. Therefore you might not be able to find the same measures published by some state-side facilities.

Environmental Health

The Environmental Health (EH) section falls under the Preventive Medicine department of Bavaria Health Command. EH monitors water quality at all installations throughout the Bavaria Health Command footprint. EH conducts sanitary inspections of all barber and beauty shops, fitness centers, and food service facilities at all installations in the Bavaria Health Command footprint. EH monitors the hazardous materials-hazardous waste-regulated medical waste program and the radiation safety program at all medical, dental, and veterinarian clinics in the Bavaria Health Command footprint. EH teaches field sanitation team classes to any unit in the Bavaria Health Command footprint without assigned preventive medicine assets.EH teaches food safety classes to civilians throughout the Bavaria Health Command footprint. EH conducts disease outbreak investigations when needed.

The Environmental Health section is located on the second floor of building 222 on Rose Barracks. The Chief of the Environmental Health section can be reached at DSN 476-3001. The Environmental Health section NCOIC can be reached at DSN 476-2041. The Environmental Health section is open 0800-1630 Monday through Friday except on federal and training holidays.
