Lt. Col Burke L. BristowLTC Burke L. Bristow

Lieutenant Colonel Bristow graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1996 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Studies, a Master of Science in Health Services Administration, and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies. His military education includes the Army Medical Department Officer’s Basic and Advance Course, the Medical Information Management Course, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School (CAS3), the Army Health Services Comptroller Internship Program, the Command and General Staff School’s Intermediate Level Education and the Naval War College.

Lieutenant Colonel Bristow’s previous assignments include: Deputy Chief, Information Management Division and Administrative Officer, Weed Army Community Hospital, Fort Irwin, California; Chief, Technology Services, Center for Healthcare Education and Studies, Army Medical Department Center and School, Fort Sam Houston, Texas; Bravo Company Commander, Academy Battalion, 32nd Medical Brigade, Fort Sam Houston, Texas; Deputy Chief, Resource Management Division and Chief, Customer Relations Office, Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii; Chief, Business Operations, Hawaii Multi-Service Market Management Office, Honolulu, Hawaii; Chief, Business Operations/Comptroller, Fort Meade Medical Department Activity, Fort Meade, Maryland; Chief, Resource Management/Comptroller, Reynolds Army Community Hospital, Fort Sill, Oklahoma; and Director, Resource Management/Comptroller, U.S. Army Dental Command, Fort Sam Houston, Texas; G-8/Chief Financial Officer for the Regional Health Command-Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii. Prior to receiving a commission, Lieutenant Colonel Bristow also served as a heavy equipment operator and cannon crewmember with the Texas Army National Guard and as a firefighter and fire rescue crewman with the U.S. Air Force and North Dakota Air National Guard. In 2006, Lieutenant Colonel Bristow deployed as a Strategic Healthcare Policy Writer, Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq.

Lieutenant Colonel Bristow is a Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) and is Level 3 certified in the Department of Defense Financial Management Certification Program.

His military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (Silver OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1st OLC), Air Force Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Iraqi Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon, the Expert Field Medical Badge and he is a recipient of the Army Medical Department Order of Military Medical Merit.
