Nutrition Care Services

The Nutrition Care Services office of the U.S. Army Medical Department Activity Bavaria strives to provide Service Member support and patient care through nutrition expertise utilizing the full spectrum of nutrition science to optimize individual health, physical performance, and a nutritional education and awareness that shapes eating habits for a lifetime.

A Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist provides Medical Nutrition Therapy for prevention and management of diverse acute and chronic medical conditions to include:

Metabolic Disorders
Diabetes
Hypertension
Hypercholesterolemia
Kidney/Liver Disease
GI Disorders
Pre/Post Bariatric Surgery
Pregnancy
Food allergies / Intolerances
Eating Disorders
Weight Management (Overweight/Underweight) for adult and pediatric populations.

Fit for Performance

Individual appointments are available by physician referral. Once your provider has placed a nutrition consult, you may schedule an appointment by calling your local health clinic appointment line: In Vilseck, Tel. 06371-9464-2300/DSN 590-2300, In Grafenwoehr, Tel. 06371-9464-3000/DSN 590-3000, In Ansbach, Tel. 06371-9464-3600/DSN 590-3600. Hohenfels patients may be seen by the dietitian in Stuttgart through Telehealth: 06371-9464-2900/DSN 590-2900. Referrals are not required for group classes, but seating is limited.

Office hours are 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Office contact number is DSN 590-2487 or CIV. 06371-9464-2487. The Nutrition Care Services office is Closed on weekends and Federal holidays.

Group appointments are available for units, family readiness, EFMP and school groups or programs for a variety of nutrition topics to include weight management, performance enhancement and general health & wellness nutrition. Community health project participation (Health Fairs/Fun Runs, etc.) are available with advanced requests.
